Steve Walker, Managing Director, Portaway Minerals (Eltron) Limited initially made contact with Elite Electrical Contractors following a recommendation from his bank manager.
His problem was that his energy usage was excessive, costing over £124,000 per year and was due to rise even further later in 2024 when his fixed rate energy contract was due to end.
Portaway Minerals is located in the Peak District and planning approval for any solar panel installation needed to be handled carefully. The company is located in a quarry and is not overlooked by anyone but even so the site has many planning restrictions which needed to be
overcome.
We undertook all preliminary work, structural calculations, DNO application, Health & Safety Risk Assessments and full mechanical and electrical installation.
The installation process from scaffold being erected, Solar PV install, testing and commissioning to scaffold being dismantled was less than 4 weeks.
